Caherline GAA:  This Weekend FRIDAY 28th Aug. 09 will
see Caherline and Hospital/Herbertstown clash in the final group
game in the Intermediate Hurling Championship.  This should be a
tough and exciting encounter against near neighbours
Hospital/Herbertstown, Caherline needing the win to progress in the
competition.  Caherline will need to be at their best to win this
game, Hospital having won their opening two games in the group in
a positive fashion.  These are the type of games any player worth
his salt will be straining on the leash to be involved in.  After the
painful last minute defeat to Glenroe in the last round, this is an
opportunity to extract the right result from what should be a titanic
struggle.  A sizeable crowd from both Parishes will be in
attendance, which will make for an electric atmosphere in
Cappamore. The match takes place this Friday 28th in Cappamore
    at 6.45.

A busy weekend also for our underage hurlers, the U10s play
Castletown/Ballyagran this Thursday and on Saturday our U12s
play Blackrock.  Both these teams are having a great season and
are providing great entertainment to their supporters. There will be
no U10 and U12 training this Friday 28th due to the Intermediate
game.  This Fridays Club lotto takes place in Lynchs Bar.

    Caherline GAA Caherline's postponed Intermediate
Championship game went ahead last Tuesday evening  1st Sept
2009 and in a tight competitive game, eventually lost out to
    Hospital/Herbertstown on a scoreline of 1-14 to 15pts.It was a close
game throughout with the result in doubt right to the end. The Club
would like to thank the panel of players and the management team
of Eugene O'Loughlin, Paddy McCarthy, Seamus Murnane and Alan
Brown-Coach for the work and effort put in this year. Thanks also to
Nora O'Loughlin first aid, John Hickey hurleys, Pat Fitzgerald kit,
Ger Coffey and Pat Casey. A special thanks also to the wonderful
supporters who followed the team in huge numbers this year. Panel:

    D.Kennedy, S.Kennedy, T.McKenna, J.McCarthy, O.Nelligan.
Our U10 hurlers played their final game in their cluster last week in
Ballyagran. Another fine display from our youngest saw great
displays which on this occasion didn't merit a win. A positive
display nonetheless from a much disciplined Caherline team that
were lacking a rub of the green on the night. Goals were scored by
Jack Enright, Sophie Heelan and Jake Carroll along with impressive
displays from Thomas Kennedy, Pauric Wixted, Daniel Murnane,
Aaron O'Callaghan, Jack Heelan, Darragh MacNamara ,Sean
Whelan, Sean Erasmus. Our U12 game v Blackrock was called off,
while our U14's lost out to South Liberties. Finally,a word of thanks
to our Cul Camp Co-ordinator John Hickey who was happy to report
a successful Camp with over 45 local children aged between 7 and
12 enjoying a great week at the Hurling field. Thanks to everyone
who helped make the week a great success and especially to the
parents for their Support.U6,U8,U10 and U12 hurling training
continues every Friday. This Fridays Club Lotto takes place in the
    Tower Bar.
