Caherline GAA – Caherline's Championship Campaign got off to the perfect start in Sunny Clarina last Saturday evening.  This 1st round clash with Newcastle West was a tough physical encounter that saw Caherline run out comprehensive winners on a scoreline of 14pts to 6pts.Caherline led 7 - 2 at half-time and tacked on another seven in the 2nd half to secure the win.  Caherline created a number of goal scoring chances but could not find the net on this occasion.  A fine crowd was in attendance to see a new look team give their all in a game Caherline were never in danger of losing.  That said improvement will be required for the upcoming game with last years semi-final opponents Glenroe.  Last years game was a Classic and the Mike O'Brien led Glenroe will be all out to avenge that defeat.  This game is currently fixed for the 21st of JUNE, subject to confirmation. Caherlines Junior B Hurlers followed up the weekend exploits of the intermediates with a super win over South Liberties last Wednesday in Dooly Park.  Another beautiful warm evening saw a rampant Caherline beat Liberties on a scoreline of 1-20 to 1-14.The amazing fact here was that all of Caherline's scores were from play.  The B's are out again this Saturday night, 6th June, at 7.30 in Pallas. Team: M.Boland, G.Begley, M.Ryan, D.Casey, M..Maloney 3pts, S.Murnane, D.Connaughton, B.Kiely, M.Hehir 1pt, D.Power 1pt, P.Fitzgerald 4pts,M.Kennedy 2pts, H.McGuire 6pts, T.Hourigan 1pt, M.O Conner 1pt.  Subs: L.Bresnan, N.Rainsford, D.Ryan, T.Butler.  This Saturday evening 6th of June at 5.00 our U12's play Glenroe in Caherline G.A.A.
