It is going to be very difficult/ near impossible to manage our usual numbers attending Christmas Eve & Day Masses with everybody’s safety in mind. We do not like turning away anybody, but this virus is not taking a holiday for Christmas! The Parish Pastoral Council meet this Monday to consider options. We ask that if you want to attend Masses over Christmas Eve & Day you might fill in a form at Mass this weekend to aid our managing of numbers. Any suggestions welcome by PPC.

Light your Loving Memory Candle (last week) - if you wish you can put the name of person/family on the candle and place it on the Cross Candelabra (at the back of the Churches). Or you can take your Candle with you and light it at home to remember your beloved family and friends. Candles cost €2 each.

The Annual St Vincent de Paul Collection - Due to Covid 19 the local St Ailbe’s Branch of St Vincent de Paul will not hold a Church-gate Collection this year. If you would like to make a contribution to SVP, please use one of the white envelopes available at the back of both churches. These can be dropped into the Parish Collection Box in the church. There will also be blue envelopes available for anyone who would prefer to post a cheque or Postal Order direct to the SVP office in Limerick.

There will be collection boxes for change in local shops if you would like to make a contribution when shopping. All donations, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. All monies received in the parish are used to help people in our local community who are in need of assistance. Each year our group visit families and individuals in this community providing help with food, fuel, and education. We appreciate that many are finding the current situation very difficult and we are very grateful for your ongoing support.

The Christmas Trees in our Churches and in the grounds of the Millennium Centre are dedicated to all Frontline workers from our parish for their work and courage in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The frontline workers are like the lights on our trees – they bring light, healing, uplift, and hope to us in the midst of the dark shadows cast by Covid 19. We can help our community by following their example. Let us look forward to celebrating a Simple Christmas – welcoming the great LIGHT that comes anew into our world

THANK you for sending in your parish envelopes. These can be put in the new safe box on the wall near the Confessional in Caherconlish.
