Millennium Centre Fundraiser: The Millennium Centre Community Lotto Syndicate is now in its final stage. Get your entry in by the close of business on Friday 2nd July 2021. The past 5 weeks have seen members of our community support this fundraiser and by Friday 2nd July if you are not a member then you could miss out on the 10 weeks of watching for our numbers to come up - IT COULD BE US. The upgrades have been completed, with the primary aim of placing the future of the centre on a more sustainable foundation i.e., lower energy costs, less waste and 'greener. The project shows what can be achieved by working together, and how strong our community spirit is! The MC will now be in a position to generate most of its own electricity requirements, following the installation of.

* a bank of PV solar panels on the roof of the centre

* all lighting in the building has been switched to more energy-efficient LEDs.

* an air curtain has been installed at the main entrance, to reduce heat loss, and * all cavity walls have been pumped with insulation. Please make sure you are FULLY paid up to be included and if unsure then phone the Millennium Centre. This lotto syndicate will provide a means where-by our community can come together once more as a collective, raise some funds to facilitate the centre getting back on its feet, and hopefully have a little fun along the way. You never know, we may win big and if you are not in it, you cannot win it!

The numbers for the syndicate fundraiser will be a 'Quick pick' and will be published in all our media outlets so everyone can check them after each draw and DREAM.Best of luck to everyone.

EAST/CITY JUNIOR B: Great game of hurling last Sunday evening in Claughaun, a game that could have gone either way in the end 3-17 would have won us many games, so to lose by a single point 3-18 to 3-17 is tough on the lads. Great effort by all involved, there will be a few sore bodies for some of the lads after playing two games on Sunday, but they gave it their all. Next up, we welcome Ahane to Caherconlish on Sunday at 7:30pm.

UPCOMING FIXTURES: U-9 hurling on Friday July 2nd, Caherline v South Liberties in Dooley Park at 6:45pm; East/City Junior B hurling on Sunday July 4th, Caherline v Ahane in Caherconlish at 7:30pm; U-15 hurling on Monday July 5th, Caherline v Croom in Croom at 7pm; U-17 hurling on Wednesday July 7th away to Granagh-Ballingarry at 7pm;

https://twitter.com/JamesMartinSJ This is a very inspiring twitter to follow. Pope Francis has given a powerful endorsement of Fr James Martin SJ’s ministry to gay Catholics in what is a significant step towards a more pastoral and inclusive approach by the Church to the LGBT community.

Writing in a letter to the New York-based Jesuit priest and author, Francis thanks Fr Martin for his “pastoral zeal” and his “ability to be close to people.” The Pope’s intervention is the first-ever written papal endorsement of a priest's ministry to LGBT Catholics and it comes after the sustained, and at times vitriolic, opposition Fr Martin has faced in his efforts to encourage the institutional Church to adopt a more sensitive, respectful, and inclusive approach to gay and lesbian Catholics.
