PRIESTLESS PARISH: Fr. James Walton takes up his new appointment in Gortnahoe- Glengoole parish this weekend and we wish him well in his new responsibilities. Ballybricken- Bohermore will have no resident priest. (Kilteely- Dromkeen has no resident priest either). Three priests, Frs. Eddie Cleary (appointed Administrator of Ballybricken- Bohermore), Sean Fennelly and myself will share pastoral duties. There is a new Mass Rota whereby our neighbouring priests will celebrate Masses here in Caherconlish – Caherline from time to time (operating from Saturday16th September). From this weekend onwards there can be no Sunday funerals. These changes are challenging for us all. This is a learning situation which requires further reflection and feedback. Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly will meet with people from the parish combinations on Thursday 19th October 7.30pm in the Millennium. Everyone is welcome to this meeting.
