JUNIOR A CHAMPIONSHIP: What an incredible day last Saturday was for our club - County Junior A Champions 2021! The first quarter of the game was cagey but tough hurling, as we knew it would be, predictions before the game saying there would only be a puck of a ball in it and it was certainly heading that way. We were up 0-05 to 0-04 at the first water break but we could only manage a single point in the second quarter, while St Kieran’s slotted three, to lead us at half time 0-07 to 0-06. We dominated a lot of the second half, keeping St Kieran’s to just one point in the third quarter and slotting over six ourselves to lead 0-12 to 0-08 with 14 mins left. To be fair to St Kieran’s, they are a good bunch of lads and did not give up...they were just three points behind heading into the closing stages, a dangerous lead for us. But deep into stoppage time, Jack Enright buried the sliotar into the back of the net to give us a 6-point lead and it was not long after that referee David Deady blew the final whistle to incredible scenes...Caherline crowned Junior A County Champions. BRIAN BULTER CUP: Our lads return to hurling this coming Saturday in Brian Butler Cup semi-final action against Doon in Cappamore, throw-in at 2:30pm, best of luck lads.

U-21 CHAMPIONSHIP: Our U-21's returned to action last Tuesday night against St Kieran's in Rhebogue and it was Kieran's who walked away with the win unfortunately. We were up at half time 1-07 to 1-05, our goal coming from Conor Martin in the sixth minute. Similar to our U-19 game against them a few weeks ago, Kieran's had a strong third quarter and hit the net three times in 4 mins to lead by seven at the second water break and it proved too much for us to pull back - final score, Caherline 1-11(14), St Kieran’s 4-8(20).

CAHERCONLISH TIDY TOWNS: We would like to thank everybody who helped us to achieve a positive Adjudication report for the National SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition. Our points increased to 256, up from 248 in our report of 2019. The Maximum points achievable is 470. This year’s competition was based on an online entry. The past two years have been very difficult for everybody, but we are committed to continue the work to make us all “proud of our place.” The adjudication report can be accessed on www.tidytowns.ie. We would like to offer our congratulations to all the regional winners and especially to Ennis Tidy Towns who were the overall winners for 2021.
