School Survey – “Have Your Say”. The Department of Education and Youth has launched a survey to get the views of parents and guardians about the types of primary schools they want for the future. The survey, which is all online (and confidential), is for parents and guardians of children currently in primary school or who will enter primary school in the coming years. The Survey, can be accessed at at https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-education/campaigns/primary-school-surveentitled. Closing date of the survey is Tuesday, 16th December. As Patron of schools in the Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly, I encourage engagement with the surveys. It is, of course, important that those who wish for a change in patronage would have their voice heard. It is equally important, however, that those who wish for a Catholic Education for their children and for those who would wish for sacramental preparation within schools would have their voice heard also. This is an important opportunity. The more people engage, the more we’ll also get an accurate picture of views on this important issue. With kind regards, + Kieran O’Reilly, SMA.
