The unannounced judging for the National Tidy Towns competition will probably take place over the next two weeks. A NOTE ABOUT THE CAHERCONLISH PEWS - All the church pews will be cleaned down, sanded and re-varnished over the coming months. A pew on left hand side of the Church shows two colour options to be considered- on the right the finish is clear, satin varnish. The left-hand half of the pew has been finished with a darker stain like the original which was used when the pews were made as the fashion at the time was for darker pews. The final finish will have further coat(s) of clear satin varnish for durability. The pews will be worked on a few at a time to minimise disruption. A third option for consideration is the pew nearby finished with clear, slightly coloured, high gloss varnish which has been in place for some time. Your opinion would be welcomed.
