The Week of Prayer for Christian UNITY from 18 - 25th January. The parable of the Good Samaritan is one of the best-known passages of Scripture, yet one that never seems to lose its power to challenge indifference to suffering and to inspire solidarity. It is a story about crossing boundaries that calls our attention to the bonds that unite the whole human family. The entire human family is challenged to unite in response to the Climate crisis. All the world religions as well as the Christian denominations are challenged to respond more to what unites us than what separates us.  There were many Jewish, Muslim and Christians working together on the ground in Israel & Gaza – but sadly as we have seen this was not matched by creating the structures for this to be built on.

MEETING OF PARISH COMBINATION REPRESENTATIVES: 6pm Wed 24th in Millennium Centre.

SVP CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: The local SVP would like to thank most sincerely all those who contributed to the collection held at both churches in December 2023.  In excess of €3,500 was donated from the collection and from individual contributions. We would also like to acknowledge the contribution of €1,085 from Abington Church Carol Service. Their continued support is very much appreciated.  The money collected was used to give fuel and food hampers in the local area to help people who need our support.  SVP continues to look for new volunteers and there are information leaflets in both churches that might be useful to anyone considering joining.

The 2024 BOXES of Envelopes have been distributed.  There may be a change to the number on the envelopes from previous years.  If you want a box and didn’t get one, contact the Sacristy or fr. Roy. Thanks to everyone who contribute so generously for the upkeep of the parish.

ONLINE PARISH LOTTO.   Jackpot increases weekly up to €5,000 now at €2525. Draw each Thursday. Lucky dip winner Matthew Coffey. Thank you for your support.
