CAHERCONLISH TIDY TOWNS: The Annual Ballyhoura Tidy Towns awards were held recently in the Millennium Centre. We were delighted to welcome the large number of groups in attendance. Prior to the meeting we got the opportunity to do a guided walk around our village and show some of our achievements so far. A brief and interesting history of the area was also given by John Kennedy. We were also delighted to receive an award in the Litter Control, Tidiness, and Waste Management section of the awards. Well done to everyone involved.

CAHERLINE GAA :CLUB LOTTO: No jackpot winner - numbers drawn were 7, 22, 26 & 27. Lucky dip winners were Pauline O'Gorman, Michael Nelligan (Online), Catherine O'Connell (Online), Vincent Enright and Ruth Kennedy. Next week’s jackpot will be €14,000 and the draw will be held on Friday night next via Facebook Live. As always, we appreciate everyone's support. PHIL POWER CUP: Our annual Phil Power Cup fixture will take place on Sunday October 8th in Caherconlish at 5pm against Cappamore. CLUB SHOP: We are delighted to announce the launch of our Club Gear shop for 2023 in conjunction with COBI Sports - the online shop is now open, with all orders planned for delivery at the end of November in time for Christmas. Parish Notes

WEEKEND MASSES: Saturday at 6.30pm in Caherconlish. Sunday at 10.30am in Caherline Church.

We WELCOME the First Communion children of Caherconlish & Caherline and their families as they join us for the 6.30pm Mass this Saturday 7th October.

OCTOBER MISSION MONTH COLLECTION: This supports missionaries working with struggling communities in the world. There is a special Brown Envelope No 3 at the back of your box. You may also drop a donation into our Sealed box in either of our churches.

Fr. Tony Flannery: On Wednesday October 18th there will be an hour-long documentary on TG4 covering the story of his suspension, and his years of conflict with Church authorities.

THE SYNOD IN ROME: Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, the synod's relator general, says the seating in the hall is not set out in a “hierarchical way” but is aimed to ensure “genuine sharing and discernment” & mirrors the synodal path that began in 2021. The round tables, he said, remind us that “none of us is the star” of the process but that the Holy Spirit is guiding the event.

ARCHBISHOP Kieran O'Reilly will meet with parishioners from the four combination parishes on Thursday 19th October at 7.30pm in the Millennium Centre, Caherconlish to discuss the effectiveness of this new and necessary arrangement and how it might be improved. All are welcome to this meeting.

NEW ALTAR SERVERS: This is open to children from Third Class upwards in our schools. Application forms are available from either Caherconlish or Caherline Sacristy from this weekend onwards. These forms may be returned to our Sacristies or placed in the secure boxes in our Churches. Training will be provided.
