Strengthening Families Programme: This is a 14-week behavioural skills training programme of 2.5 hours per session. It is our intention to run the programme in east Limerick at the Hospital Family Resource Centre, for the 12–16-year Olds and their parents/guardians on Tuesday evenings starting the 10th of January with a welcome and introduction evening. A broad structure for each night of the programme is as follows: Families will meet for the first half hour for a community dinner. Parents meet separately with group facilitators for an hour to learn how to increase the desired behaviours in their teenagers by increasing attention and rewarding positive behaviour. The Teenagers meet separately with facilitators for an hour, to learn how to understand feelings, control their anger, resist peer pressure, comply with parental rules, solve problems, and communicate effectively. During the second hour of the session, families engage in structured family activities, conduct family meetings, learn communication skills, practice effective discipline, reinforce positive behaviours in each other, and complete family activities. If you would like to know more about this programme, make a referral contact Martha at 087 2813341.

Caherconlish Local Area Plan (2023-2029) Over the past month, residents have met and discussed the village and what is good, and what will the area need over the next 6 years. The submission date for the Limerick City & County Council to close submissions for the next Local Area Plan is Monday 28th November. It is your chance to guide and mould the future of your village. Check out Local Area Plan - Caherconlish | Limerick.ie the risk of leaving these things to others is that our village could find a development that we don't want or not get the one we need.
