SACRED HEART JOURNEY OF LOVE & HOPE -  VISIT CAHERCONLISH  PARISH  CHURCH FRIDAY MAY 2nd from 12 noon to 4pm.

FR. PAT CURRIVAN (RIP): During the week we lost our beloved Fr. Pat. Fr. Pat blessed us with a kindly warm presence spanning 47 years. It’s hard to believe that he is gone such was his zest for life and living. He brought a love of life and of people that will remain with us for a long time. Fr. Pat brought great presence to so many occasions and of course laughter and humour. You were always the better for having met him. He brought too to this Community a great care and interest in people, no matter who you were or what you had. It was uplifting that so many young people expressed their appreciation of him in the condolences. The last few months of his life weren’t easy, yet he showed massive determination and held on to the hope of returning to his house.  The Archbishop rightly praised the various networks that have supported him over the past few years as his independence decreased.  Our sympathies to his sister, Alice Cleary, Fr. Eddie, his nieces and nephews, relations and many friends.  Fr. Pat’s family have asked me to convey their gratitude to the funeral organisers and everyone in the parish for the dignity with which his wake and funeral Mass was carried out, also to the Millennium Centre for the wonderful meal.   We believe that Fr. Pat is at home now and at peace with God. Lines from John O’Donohue come to mind -  “May you continue to inspire us Fr. Pat,  To enter each day with a generous heart, To serve the call of courage and love, Until we see your beautiful face again, In that land where there is no more separation, Where all tears will be wiped from our minds, And where we will never lose you again”.
