The Management and Staff of the Millennium Centre would like to express our sincere sympathy to the O'Sullivan Family on the sad passing of Billy RIP. Billy was a founder of the Millennium Centre Committee and was a stalwart in our early fundraising efforts.  He was the winner of our Mayoral Campaign which was our first major fundraiser and was elected Mayor in March 1993. Arís comhbhrón ó chroí.


Millennium Centre Playground The playground will be open every day  from 10am to 6pm .There are restrictions in place that will be reviewed and adjusted going forward. Parents or guardians are required to: To bring their own hand sanitiser for the cleaning of their children’s hands before, and at regular intervals during and after use of the playground equipment. In the absence of such sanitation parents or guardians are requested to refrain from allowing their children use of the equipment. To ensure physical distancing between children. To advise children to avoid touching their face, eyes, nose, and mouth. To ensure children under your care have regard to the safe use of equipment and to the safety of others at all times. To adhere to the most up to date health advice. Please respect the restrictions in place and we cannot allow unsupervised children i.e. under 18's to be on the grounds and will take steps to ensure compliance.


Caherconlish National School  50/50 draw will continue weekly.


Tennis courts The tennis courts are open to members only. Please ring the Millennium Centre to book a slot. Keys must then be collected and dropped back to the Millennium Centre after each session. Following guidelines from Tennis Ireland, the toilets and clubhouse remain closed. Please bring and use hand sanitizer. No doubles unless players are from the same household. Please keep 2m distance from other players


MILLENNIUM Name Plaque  We are inviting you, your family, your friends and the wider community to help with our future planning by purchasing; a Name Plaque 6” x 4” (150 x 100 mm) for the sum of €100. You will be registered as a lifetime member of the Millennium Sports and Social Club in return for your support. Your Plaque with your inscription will be displayed prominently in the Millennium Centre and highlighted appropriately Contact the Millennium Centre for more information.

Beginner’s Line Dancing Classes: Complying to social distancing rules. In the Millennium Centre starting Wednesday 7th October 8.00-9.00pm. Cost €30 for 4 weeks. Booking by text, contact Pat 087 2577761.


Crafty Angels: Sewing group  classes every Monday  10.00am -12.00pm. All are  welcome.


Pilates4All: In the Millennium Centre Monday,Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7.30pm. Classes will now be in the large function room allowing for social distancing. Each participant MUST have their own mat, bands, ball, water etc. This procedure will continue under the current climate. Class numbers are restricted as per guidelines & there are limited spaces available for each class.


Slimming World: Every Wednesday 9.30am, 5.30pm & 7.30pm. All are Welcome, Contact Martina 089 4079264

Parish Notes

CAHERLINE CHURCH 10am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday – open to 4pm daily.   Closed the other three days.

CAHERCONLISH CHURCH 10am Thursday & Friday open - to 4pm daily.   6.30pm Vigil Mass Saturday evening.   Sunday Mass 11am. Closed the other three days.

REMINDER:   GUIDELINES FOR  THOSE  ATTENDING MASSES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

As you are aware the spread of the Covid 19 virus has reached serious levels. Due to the government guidelines, and the efforts made to date in our community there has been no spread of the virus. We ask your help in maintaining this.

Ushers will greet people at the gate as they enter the Church grounds; only the permitted number of persons will be allowed currently 50.

People are asked to come   15 minutes before Mass.

Entrance: There will be one entrance only, the main entrance. Church door will be closed once the capacity of 50 is reached.

You are asked to wear a Face Mask and use sanitizers on entering.

We recommend where possible that families might consider choosing one of the present weekday masses for anniversaries.

PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION – goes to Pope Francis who distributes it to needy Church communities all over the world. You are invited to make a contribution through returning the Special 2 envelope at the back of your box.

ADORATION – Tuesday Caherline 10.30 to 11.30am: Friday Caherconlish 10.30 to 12 noon.

Big “Thank You” to all our Volunteers who are involved as Ushers as we come to Mass, clean, tidy and sanitize the building, open and close the church each day, organising the scheduling, Communion etc. -  enabling us to come to church safely etc.

Another Big “Thank You” to all the parishioners who have made donations in recent weeks to help pay the bills.   The Sunday “Basket Collection” is replaced by donation boxes at the back door to the Churches.


Caherline GAA LOTTO: No winner, numbers drawn were 3, 6, 12 & 18. Lucky dip winners were Grace Carroll, Caroline Hartnett, Gerard Ryan, Dara & Conor O’ Dwyer and Ann O'Connell. Next week jackpot will be €6,000 and the draw will be held on Friday night via Facebook Live from the Caherline Gaa clubhouse from 9:30pm. As always, we appreciate everyone's support. Tickets are on sale in Ryans XL shop, the Post Office and from the usual promoters.

JUNIOR A HURLING: Caherline will play Ahane on Sunday at 4pm in Cappamore. U-11 HURLING: Great performance from our U-11's last Sunday evening against Monaleen, great hurling all around. FIXTURES: On Thursday evening, our U-12's travel in to Rhebogue to play St. Patrick's, throw in at 7pm (note the time change). On Friday evening, our U-8's travel to Ahane for a 6pm throw-in. U-10's will travel to Claughaun, throw-in there at 6:30pm (note the time change).


Caherconlish GAA football club Underage training continues on Tuesday evening 6-15 to 7-15pm.

U16 play a county semi-final next Saturday 3rd against Ballylanders in Cappamore at 4-30pm.

Our Junior team played Ballybricken-Bm last Thursday evening under lights in Knocklong in the East semi-final. We lost out on a score line of 1-07 to 2-07, we were very unlucky on the night. We would like to thank the players and the coaching team for the effort put in, it was great to field a junior team after several years without one.

Fundraiser: Old Clothes Collection is planned for 17th October: We would like to thank everyone who supports our clothes collection fundraiser .  Yours support is greatly appreciated. All funds raised goes into the running of the club. If unable to drop off, we can collect any time.
